Hi- I'm working on a report where I'm trying to enter stop keep under surveillance times mm:ss. I've formated the cell to customized {mm:ss}, however it keep varying the plus within the cell to something completely outside of what I put in it *OR* it reverts put a bet on to viewing it as hour:minute:second am. So relates it rear legs to the hour of the time...
I've done a time study contained by which I placed the Minutes and Seconds of respectively distraction and can't integer out how to immediately go and get adjectives the columns to add properly. Any design?
Answers: I use Excel to dictation my running times and splits. I use the hour format, 00:00:00(hh:mm:ss). When I enter time I enter 0:23:37, for 23 minutes and 37 second, this method when I tag on up totals etc, it go into hours, minutes and second.
You own to enter them as times surrounded by the 12am hour close to:
12:03:47 am
Then format the cell using a custom format of "mm:ss". It works so long as your times are smaller number than 60 minutes.
Also look at the minute() second() timevalue() functions.
Alternatively, you can newly enter the minutes and second as two separate numbers contained by two columns.
Try to format the cell to use 37:30:55 format underneath time of the number tab, ctrl+1 next you'll see.
After formatting adjectives cell for entry, the time you enter contained by hh:mm:ss will be shown correctly and prepared for calculation minus errors.
Using 37:30:55 format is better than hh:mm:ss or mm:ss because when it's come to hour which is >= 24, consequently your figure will prone to own problem but not next to 37:30:55 format.
