Windows Scrambled?

I just now bought a investigational Dell system near XP installed. Recently, as I'm working, everything starts to progress scrambled. The taskbar moves to the top of the peak, things bring back blanked out, everything's very slow, however, when I push the power button on the shield, everything go stern to majority, but by next it's too overdue as everything starts to shut down. I can't influence I've have this problem so not sure what is cause it but you can try to do a system restore, click start, adjectives programs, accoutrements, system restore and jump fund to a morning you can remember it wasn't doing this. Failing that you will hold to any update or reinstall window. I'm also wondering if you hold some sort of virus.
