Answers: Audacity is slightly worthy for almost anything but pro CD. For that you would jump next to Ardour. Both free widen source programs.

Adobe soundbooth works. Expensive though, and agency too much power for merely what you obligation.
There is Sony Acid studio that would be foolproof for your requests.

Audacity is a pretty biddable free program.
Besides Audacity, in that are also a few free ones that work in good health, if you don't want to travel near the rewarded programs.
