I am looking for a word application to write a story and my computer doesn't hold Microsoft Word. Can anyone describe me a moral word application to be exact free and risk-free to download?
Answers: OpenOffice or AbiWord
To clarify, both OpenOffice and Abiword are obedient, and both can bar MS Word formats.
Abiword is a Word Processor Only, OpenOffice is a unharmed bureau suite.
Abiword: Faster, but not rather as fully feature. Much better for slower computers. Runs on Windows or Linux. Perfectly tolerable for uncomplicated word docs minus too much formatting.
OpenOffice: Slower, but more features, and creates PDF's! Much bigger download because it requires Java. In my belief, OpenOffice does a better undertaking of handling complicated word docs beside table, metaphors, etc.
If you bring back Abiword, and also want a nice spreadsheet program that can read MS Excel, acquire Gnumeric.
Or you could not download anything and use any Google Docs, or Zoho Writer. Both are compatible next to M$ Word.
Personally, I prefer Zoho.

Much better than OO Writer. OpenOffice is fairly puny, a memory hog, and offer zilch better over MS Office bar price.
Office 2007 is still the best bureau suite out here. OO is newly pious because it's free.
