How do i grasp to outdated files (e.g. MacOSX or Windows) from ubuntu?

free please.

Answers: Navigate to "My Computer" (or its equivalent) and find the hedge on which your files are located. Right click and mount the wall. This should allow you to widen that divider and access the files.

(Note: the knotty drive partition may be mounted automatically on your desktop...I can't remember exactly, I'm not a regular ubuntu user.)

As an alternative, you can use a live disc of a distro such as Knoppix or Puppy Linux.

Good luck!
If the Windows contraption uses NTFS, mount the drive using Samba as NTFS. I believe that you do matching for the Mac, except it's HPFS.
