I want to put together youtube video and I am sick of window so i wan't to move to linux but will it work near my computer here is my information

Way more than needed to run linux. I installed mandrake eight onto a 350mhz pentium part and it run great. Lots faster than near window. Only have a 8mb video card surrounded by it.
