You can also try knoppix, slax, kubuntu, damn small linux, spike linux, puppy linux, Windows 2000, XP.

You could even run Vista ( Probably slow, but conceivably not because of the RAM) on that.
To do this:
Copy the contents of a Vista dvd to your tricky drive.
Then replace the "winsetup.dll" beside this one:

That file will brand name it so Vista doesn't check if your computer is powerful ample to run vista.

Run the setup.exe
And lurk a long time

If your computer doesn't die, you will own Vista
When Vista starts:
Press the window key
Go to run
type "msconfig"
Uncheck every box on every tab

Now it will look approaching window 2000, simply slower
Windows98 running 98-lite.
