Limewire doesn't *give* you virus, you choose them.
If you're downloading music, stick to .mp3 and providing the mp3 extention is straight it wont be a virus. Choose files beside lower sources, between 5-20.
If you're downloading bigger files (movies/games etc), right click the file and look for bitzi. Bizti is a website where on earth you can sometimes find out if the folder is what it say it is and if it's worth downloading or not. If there's no review consequently you're taking a indiscriminate downloading it.
Stay away from .rar, .exe, .wma, .wmv, .wav as they're more imagined to be unwanted items or virus.
In short, think twice what you choose to download. Don't blame p2p software for "putting" virus on your notebook. You solely hold yourself to blame.
