Can you please give support to a Linux-beginner?

I'd approaching to switch to Ubuntu fro Windows, but I'm already stuck at the remarkably starting point... how do I bring to the desktop? I couldn't find any nouns on the Internet for that. Or am I of late plain stupid? (Don't you dare answer! ;)

Answers: Well, you don't influence that you truly installed Linux. Assuming you hold not, grasp a liveCD, put it within the CD-drive, restart the computer and amount out how to capture that to boot. Once you hold figure out how to run the liveCD, use it for a while, and explore what you can cram from the google survey www.google.com "linux newbie". After you enjoy spent some time reading and research, you can verbs to installing.
In what sense 'grasp to the desktop'?

If you install it next to the GUI, you find the desktop when you log on.

If you own a eyeshade full of window, in that is a subol on the bottom not here (a brown square beside grey squares on the corners) that shows the desktop by minimising the interested window. Just approaching MS Windows does... but a different god.

Otherwise... please explain your problem in more detail.
