I be moving some music files around and seleced a few to move and while doing something eles hit control delete. Would they be stored in a temp folder anywhere? the p.c has'nt be turned of even so.

try inquiring within your recycle bin,if they are not near it's possible they are stored else where on earth on your comp lacking knolledge.
So if only just surrounded by skin they might be do your own comp scour.
Go to Start
Click on Search
Then type surrounded by what you remember the designation of the report was
Like,,,. wmv,,.jpg etc.
