Answers: Everybody said Openoffice.org, but that's a full bureau suite. If your looking just for word next AbiWord's the best preference.

Microsoft Word?
Microsoft Office is probably the best as of very soon, but here is OpenOffice explicitly free and is immensely apposite too. By terrifically devout I plan almost adjectives the functionalities of MS Word, but MS Office 2007 is still a bit better. OpenOffice is accessible source, so It develops hastily. I recommend you try it out.
P.S. Search OpenOffice on a force out engine to find their homepage and download. :-)
