They can't be read by any heir. When I convert one to a RTD it corrupts and loses formatting - margins and page askew etc. I tried converting online to an Adobe PDF but Adobe doesnt make out Works any. I be going to try to closure it somehow - any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The documents are mostly manuscript beside some clipart and pictures. Thanks

try this converter to convert work document to word document (.doc format) which you can convert to pdf (if you want).

I would suggest you use OpenOffice (ms-office alternate) to cut and put aside existing files to word format (or .doc format) which is compatible beside ms-words program

Why bother?
Try the free, and M$-Office compatible, Open Office from:
Included: Writer (like Word), Calc (Excel), Impress (PowerPoint), Base (Access), Draw (M$-Paint) and Math
Just manufacture sure that if you want others to be capable of judgment the documents using M$-Office Word, for example, set free them using "Save as..." in .doc format, instead of the defaulting .odt format.
