I just in step the brightness slightly and afterwards clicked apply. I own not be competent to craft it budge support to average by resetting the default and restarting my computer. This merely seem to effect MPEG/DVD (and not a DIVX or WMV video record, for example). (this is beneath VIsta).
The strange article is, this happen on my previous computer too when I tried to adjust the video brightness within the Nvidia control panel for that card. (a completely different set of hardware on XP but same monitor (if that could possibly even situation, considering adjectives other video and graphics display normally)). The problem only just go away after a while, sometimes changeably when I in the swing of things the settings again in confident cases.
I can't find anything on the internet roughly speaking this which surprises me although it is tricky to go through for it to start next to.

Answers: thats mostly a sing of an videooverlay error from the nvidia driver. try reinstalling the drivers, stir to nvidia.com select and download the driver for your system and install it,.. mpeg/mpeg2 decode is diferent from divix/mpeg4/wmv.
also try a untried codec pack k-lite or something..
other recomandation try VLC player, doesent involve codes atall, codec are included in the player.
