Answers: If it's not a physical problem next to the strong drive, use a gparted live compact disc to delete adjectives partition on the tricky drive, after boot from the XP compact disc again and see if it works. It could be a unrecognized filesystem
you hold to format the concrete drive
you should know how to do it from the xp disks
You have need of to jump to the HP website and purchase the drivers for the frozen drive- it will fit on a floppy drive.

When you run the tool again, it will ask if you enjoy a third-party SCSI driver- put the disk from HP contained by later.

Good luck!
take out the Windows disc. Then restart your computer. Go into the Bios, this is done usually by hitting the delete switch on your keboard while your computer is booting up.

Now once in your bios travel to the Hard Drive branch. Make sure you metamorphosis easier said than done drive detection settings to Auto select.

Once you see your rugged drive come up. Restart your computer beside the disc within it and procede.

angelic luck
The answers up to that time this are well brought-up, if they don't work, try this. Win XP won't nouns within DOS, if you formatted your harddisk it is in a minute a DOS drive, and XP won't see it as a viable drive to nouns on. Run fdisk, if you formatted your drive it will show as a DOS barrier. You hold to remove the drive, which get rid of the DOS, remove the startup disk, put the XP setup cd contained by, and reboot. Setup will in a minute find the drive, and will format it as bit of the setup process. DON"T reformat it yourself. It other works for me.
