I want to buy a unsullied laptop but I could let go abundantly if i bought it next to no OS. I own an unopened XP disk from an mature desktop but it say on it "for re-installation only" and that the installation Key have be built contained by to the mature desktop so no push button is provided. Can I use the XP switch retreival utility (

I've have difficulties installing Dell-branded Windows on non-Dell machines. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It is indeed possible to create an installation that will disallow to install on a non-Dell (or non-Gateway, non-Compaq, etc). But I've never be competent to see a rhyme or idea as to why some Dell-branded Windows will install on anything, and others wont'.
It incontestably wouldn't hurt to try. Retrieve your knob as you mentioned (or use RockXP, google it) and confer it a shot. If it works, great. If not, you're no worse sour really. As for the other key; they are adjectives already installed on someone's electrical device; you'll run into profusely of hassle trying to use any of those.

but if you buy an OS, you can use the disc to install multiple times on different computers, im not sure if its one and the same contained by this satchel if the disk come beside your dell computer.
if the disc is resembling regular retail window xp disc after yeah, you can, but if you're permitted to do it is something else.
Actually, DELL's OEM Windows disk will ONLY nouns on Dell machines. If you try to use it on any PC from other brand, it won't even start to nouns.
