Answers: It may work but it's not a suitable view. Find the disc: it must be somewhere. The problem is that registry entries will not be transferred. I suggest that you spend a few hours studying how to repress the registry, do a rummage for Microsoft Office entries within the registry (using regedit which is run from the command line). Export these entries to a .reg database on the DVD, verbs that to a makeshift record after your system's repossession and run it.

I still feel that it would be better any to find the untested disc or consider an alternative to Microsoft Office 2000 (which is becoming obsolete) such as OpenOffice.

If you do try it and it doesn't work I would suggest doing systems reclamation again, because your attempts are possible to mess up your not long rejuvenated system. Recovery is a much better channel than running repair programs: the problem is that it does pinch time.
That depends. If you've simply copied the Program folder for Office (from the C:\Program Files folder) to a DVD next no it will not work. If you plan you hold a copy of Office that you've copied from disc to DVD or a copy that you've downloaded and burned to a DVD, next yes it'll work. When you reboot and travel into the DVD you can click on setup.exe or anything and it will install Office. Just remember to hold your serial number for Office or you won't know how to install it.
